Hi All Users
Would like to understand if anyone has performance benchmark studied between OpenFOAM vs Flow-3D? especially focus on VOF and moving meshing options. Thanks in advance

ah my friend the two software you say are very much in different
to start with foam is open source giving u complete flexibility on wat u actually do and u wil hav a better understanding of any error or dubious result while flow 3d is a closed source commercial software and incase of a non conventional problem u wil be completly at the mercy of flow 3d tech support and usually they are sloppy slow to respon and dont have much idea of the inner working as even the tech support guys wont be given the source code due to data security issues.

Foam being open source wont be having gud gui like flow 3d.U will hav to do a lot of "circus" to do simple thing but then ITS FREE with a wonderfully helpful community who help all the time Flow 3d will set u back by a huge lump of cash.

Flow 3d is very capable with most of the regular problems mainly with free surface flows (de guy who developed VOF is lead engg there)so its the best thing even better then fluent may be.Mainly in case of CHT and phase change Flow 3d rulz the domain
chemical and other stuff flow 3d is weak.
flow 3d gu for phase change free surface and external flows may be even fsi

But the main factor is the cash that u will hav to spend for the software and support(really expensive!!)
