Does any Foamer knows how to use jumpCyclic boundary condition? I am trying to prescribe a jump in velocity across an internal patch (similar to a fan) in dieselFoam in v1.5.x.

Many thanks in advance.

I managed to get it to run with dieselFoam but could not figure out how to specify the value of delta(p) across the internal patch declared jumpCyclic.

I can use either a delta(p) across the patch of a delta(U)across the patch (in the dirction normal to the patch).

So, at this point, nothing jumps across the patch. I tried to read the source code at no avail. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thank you.

Hi leejc,

I am trying to do something similar to this in a university project but so far without succeed.
I want to prescribe a jump on the velocity: to impose in the velocity field, at a certain streamwise position, a 2D vortex that looks like this:

So, I have for each cell the velocity jump I need to prescribe but i don't know which boundary condition to use (and how to use it). If you managed to do something similar before, can you give me any advice please?

Best regards,
Sofia
