Hello guys,

I am a researcher trying to simulate a jet fire using fireFoam. I hope u guys can offer me any advice in how to do this. Currently I am getting some results but it is just not the correct one. The velocity I am using is very high, more than 300 m/s.

Thank you.

Hello

I think that in FireFoam, the low-Mach number approximation is used,
so with such a high velocity, FireFoam may not be able to solve your problem.
One solution can be to develop your own solver based on fireFoam but changing the treatment of the compressibility (you can see what is done in solver such as sonicFoam for instance).

Regards,
Maxime

FireFOAM in 1.7.1 uses fully compressible fomulation and is able to treat compressible flow. But if it is efficient for this high speed is a different issue.
