Dear OpenFoamers,
I would like simulate translating submerged bodies (e.g. sphere) in OpenFoam, with the idea of making the setup robust for most motion described, e.g. for a docking manoeuvre with large translations to investigate hydrodynamic interactions. I have been able model this in ANSYS-CFX using a moving and re-meshing approach, the purpose of doing it in OpenFoam is to compare & reduce the computational time needed for such simulations. An example of the CFX run is given in the link below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T404lwpVI7s The closest attempt I've found is the adaptive tet remeshing technique by Sandeep Menon and David Schmidt from their powerpoint below. http://www.openfoamworkshop.org/2009...idt_slides.pdf I would very grateful of any help given and will be more than happy to post results/documentation of the work in parallel with its progress if allowed. |
