Issue Resolved:
Ubuntu install on windows 7 using virtualbox does not fully support my 3D accelerated graphics driver. Switched to dual boot with no issues. OpenGL not fully compatible with virtualbox. However, paraFoam/ParaView still functional Kody I'm just getting started with OpenFOAM tutorials, and am already having issues (total noob). I followed the directions for the OpenFOAM Ubuntu Deb Pack Installation. The overview explains that this installation is the easiest and works on a virtual machine. I am running virtual box on Windows 7 and have gotten all the way through the installation. However, when I run the first tutorial case (Cavity) ParaFoam gives me the following error: ERROR: In /home/opencfd/OpenFOAM/ParaView-4.1.0/VTK/Rendering/OpenGL/vtkOpenGLDisplayListPainter.cxx, line 188 vtkOpenGLDisplayListPainter (0x1b12fc0): failed after RenderInternal 1 OpenGL errors detected 0 : (1280) Invalid enum OpenGL Warning: No pincher, please call crStateSetCurrentPointers() in your SPU Segmentation fault (core dumped) In my thinking, I can't be the only person to run into this error but as I have looked through the forums I can't find any solutions. I know this isn't a CFD question, but until I can get this to work all my CFD questions are on hold. Thanks in advance for any info. Kody Last edited by dunerider40; March 28, 2014 at 18:38.
