Alan Thomason is on a distinguished road
Hello All...

I am hoping to use ParaView to help me in displaying and extracting information from scanned point clouds. The PCL plug-in has come up many times in my searches as a good fit for that work, but I hope to learn more about the following before I start:

1. Is PCL still in active use? It seems most of the discussion stops in 2012. If it is not, is there another path that others have gone down for point cloud geometry extraction?

2. Are there any recent binaries available for ParaView/PCL together or do you have to compile (as the installation suggestions state).

3. If you do go down the compile route, has anyone done this with the latest version of ParaView?

4. The instructions state that you should use Microsoft Visual Studio 2008/2010, but the only download I could find was for 2015.

Any help would be appreciated.
Best Regards,
Alan Thomason
