Convergence validation with Plot Over Time

Hello,
I have what I think is a simple question but I have been trying to solve it for days. I have a large OpenFoam simulation of a system in a building. It is a buoyant flow and I am using 2.4 and paraview 4.1.0 on Linux/Ubuntu. I load my results into paraview and all works fine. However, the group I am presenting to does not understand engineering units. They want all temperatures in C rather than K. I am creating a 2 view video of the simulation progression. The first thing I do is add a calculator that creates T_C by taking T - 273.15. I plot points in the main view (and will put cut planes to highlight the key areas). Everything works great. I then create a split view and add a spreadsheet to inspect data items. Both T and T_C show up - all looks fine. I think select a few points as rows in the spreadsheet and hit plot over time. This is where the wheels fall off the wagon. I get an error that says T_C only exists for 1 value, 12 needed. At this point I have 12 time steps. When I configure the plot over time I only have access to the original T not T_C (which I anticipated from the error). I thought I may have to put a calculator on the plot over time but can not find a way to do this. Any suggestions on how to get the calculated T_C to work with plot over time OR how to apply a new calculator to the resultant plot over time? I have attached a screen shot that shows what I am doing. Any help is greatly appreciated. Best regards - Joe. |

Here is the error I get when I run the plot over time:
p, li { white-space: pre-wrap; } ERROR: In /home/jam68/OpenFOAM/ThirdParty-2.4.0/ParaView-4.1.0/VTK/Common/DataModel/vtkTable.cxx, line 353 vtkTable (0x20ff36f0): Column "T_C" must have 25 rows, but has 1. At this point I am up to 25 time steps. I opened up the OpenFoam simulation in paraview. I looked at the grid temperature over time in K. All looks good. I add a spreadsheet view and select 5 arbitrary points. I then add a calculator and create a new point variable called T_C which is T - 273.15. When I step through in time the table has a new column for T_C and it looks correct for the 5 points I selected. Not that in the spreadsheet view I have selected show only selected points to make the view manageable. So alls is good. I think go to the Plot Over Time icon on paraview and select it. It crunches for a while and then pops up the error above. When I look at the plot over time I can only get the original T in K. Any suggestions? Thanks, Joe. |
