Hello,
I am currently trying to better understand how Paraview processes tensor data originating from a vtk file. I understand that tensors are represented as follows in a vtk file: TENSORS dataName dataType t(0)00 t(0)01 t(0)02 t(0)10 t(0)11 t(0)12 t(0)20 t(0)21 t(0)22 t(1)00 t(1)01 t(1)02 t(1)10 t(1)11 t(1)12 t(1)20 t(1)21 t(1)22 and so forth When I load the VTK file into Paraview, in the Active Variable Control, I have a choice between showing all the different dataNames (eg, stress, strain etc) but I also have another drop down menu with 10 different choices: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and Magnitude. I understand the first 9 values probably correspond to the 9 tensor values of my current tensor choice. However, which entries in the tensor matrix do the correspond to? Where can I find this information in the Paraview or VTK documentation? Finally, what does "Magnitude" correspond to? Magnitude of what exactly? |
