The unit in the CAD system is mm. So I the coordinates in the STL file are numbers >1.
The stl file format is ASCII .
SurfaceCheck indeed shows many...

When i try to load a stl the Terminal outputs the following:

Bus::open: Can not get ibus-daemon's address. ...
