One more thing... once you change anything to SELinux or to the hosts or the host.conf files, you should atleast restart the network system, but better still, is to restart your computer.... in order...

Ok... if nothing changed even after disabling SELinux, it looks kind of weird....

Another thing you could try, is to modify the /etc/hosts file which you have listed...
