You don't have to reinstall ansys software; but I have to say I don't know if it all works under windows 8. I run under 7 and there it goes well..

I do not think that in this case interpreting UDFs should be the issue. Of course, the simple way to check that would be to run a compiled version of them as well and see if that does...
