does anyone know if Starnet( star-cd's network cluster utility) is compatible with Torque, a variant of openPBS. i know that openPBS is supported by starnet, but dont know about Torque. it seems Torque is a pretty recent thing.

Torque is not specifically supported. STARNET supports OpenPBS so if Torque is very close, it may just work, or work with minor changes. STARNET is just scripting so it might be possible for you to alter it yourself.
