Guys,
I have star-CD V3.2 sun machine and i need fortran 90 to compile most of my models but I dont have that compiler with me. I have g77 compiler with me. Will all the models run on g77 compiler? Where can I get f90 compiler for free so that I can install that compiler and run the program? Waiting for ur answers.. If someone can give me then it will be of great help to me. Also does someone have any example or tutorial or workshop for moving meshes for stator-rotor or gas turbine applications which will be very useful for me to start my moving mesh simulatiion. My email id is arnabbaby@yahoo.co.in Thanks in advance, AB |

We've managed to scrounge free compilers from most vendors for "software development", but Sun wouldn't budge. I wouldn't expect them to give compilers out FOC to end users either. Dig deep into your pockets.
How did you run before V3.2? |

you don't need an external Fortran compiler. All the user subroutine, StarCD can compile them automatically.
Besides, there are examples in StarCD turtoral about sliding mesh approach. From my viewpoint, it is not vey convient for the user to realize it StarCD. You have to define some files with StarCD's language. good luck! |

Would you please give a detail about how to use fortran user subroutines without the Absoft Fortran compiler installed?

I guess Jing meant that you don't need a Fortran compiler with v3.2 if you're not using user subroutines. Before v3.2, you always needed a Fortran compiler for the starlink step. Whichever version of star you're using, you always need a Fortran compiler for user subroutines.
