Hello, This is manoj Raut. I am doing post graduation in Automobile Engineering at VJTI, Mumbai. My MTech Desseration work is based on CFD. tritle of the project is heat transfer analysis of welding of element and terminallegs of ICs using the CFD code STAR-CD.

Actually i am suffaring from a problem regarding boundary condition.the model consists of two parts i.e element (copper Material)and terminal (copper material)which are to be spot welded for a 0.1 sec and study the effect of cooling in air. weld is provied in contact surface of two solid material (elemnt and terminal).

In STAR-CD i locate boudary area i.e. area equal to weld area as a heat input. for the defined boundary area I create , Define region as a -WALL an give heat input as a 1353 K temperature.

But when i write a geometry file i get error stating that boundary region i.e. heat area, is not a conducting area. I defined heat area as the conact surface betwwen two metals as a WALL.

i contieously trying to sort out the problem but enable to solve it. Plz give me some advice. Regards Manoj Raut
