the problem is as follows,

PNP: Allocated "xy,2" resource (2 processes). PNP: Assigned "xy,2" resource to STAR solver (2 processes). PNP: Loading STAR solver dynamic shared object plug-ins. PNP: Loading MPICH2 1.0.6 dynamic shared object plug-ins. PNP: Spawning STAR processes on single node. Credentials for xy rejected connecting to xy Aborting: Unable to connect to xy PNP: Shutdown [2008-10-19-10:47:00] Execution aborted by request (SIGABRT) after 2 seconds (OVERALL ELAPSED TIME).

try to run via the star-shell (help-> star-shell). The starlaunch never works very well. The problem could be differentiated from starlaunch using star-shell.

cheers,

c.

Please can you tell me what is the name of your uname -n? Did you give the right name? Did you try to run it in xy,1 and it worked? Do you have license for 2 processes? Check starhpdomains and starpar in your license file. xy is one processor with 2 cores?
