There are several ways to do that. One is using the dbs with proam:

1. Create a (Volume-) mesh within Star-Design 2. Save the Stardesign-case. This will create a *.dbs -File (amoung others) 3. copy the *.dbs -File as star.dbs into a new working directory 4. Star ProStar/proam 5. In the dbs-entries you will find the surface-mesh and the volume-mesh to work on.

hi Vamos1,

thank you your guide to get a mesh in star Cd from star design, I do'nt understand how to do the 5 step ( I'm a fluent user but not yet familiarised with star cd )

you say in the 5 step: In the dbs-entries you will find the surface-mesh and the volume-mesh to work on].

would you please be more explicit

Star uses a *.dbs-File like a database where you can hold different stages or kinds of meshes (surface-meshes, volume-meshes, BLs etc.). You can operate on this database-File via proam and/or via commands (see the dbas-Command). The easiest way is probably to use the proam-GUI:

- start proam in the dir where the dbs-File is located (for ease renam the dbs-File to star.dbs before) - open the proam-Panel (advanced/auto-mesh classic in the menue) - klick on processTool/database summary -> you will see all database-entries in the dbs-File (maybe you have to klick on "refresh" once - you get read in the respective database entry by selecting the entry in the upper area of the proam-GUI and klick "load/get current database.
