Hello guys,

I want to keep it short and explain my problem with Prism Layer Mesher.

After generating my Volume Mesh I get a broken Prism layer Mesh on my Geometry

Here some pictures.

Can someone explain why I don't get a correct Prism mesh?

Thx.

It looks like the prisms are having a hard time projecting on to a sharp corner, correct? You should modify the boundary march angle.

I've tried this before without any improvement.
I should also mention that this boundary represents an interface.

The new boundary in the new picture represents a casing.

I can't really tell what's going on. The first picture is far away and the next two are zoomed up somewhere. Can you post some more images?

Pictures:
1. water intake channel, interface, casing rotor
2. view inside water intake channel to interface
3. zoomed view inside water intake channel.
4. opposite view of 3 (outside of the water intake channel)
5. view inside intake channel to interface

I think the geometry causes the problem as you can see in picture 3 und 4.
What do you think?

Thanks for your help.

In this case, if what I think I'm seeing is correct, your prisms are moving from a 90 degree face to a face that's parallel to the interface. In the interface's case, no prisms will be projected onto the interface, the prisms will just collapse. There is no method around this unless you move the interface somewhere else.
