Dear experts,

I use the realizable k-epsilion model to simulate near wall region of a fully developed channel flow. Low y+ wall treatment is used because a high accuracy is required in the near wall region. The velocity profile in the near wall region will follow u+=y+ (y+<12) and u+=k^(-1)lny+ + C (y+>12), since the none of the velocity formula satisfies in the buffer layer.

My question is that for a drag reduction/increasing plate with specific physical surface topology, the near wall velocity profile is supposed to be shifted upwards/downwards. If the realizable k-epsilon model, and low y+ wall treatment is employed, is it possible to see the velocity shift or the velocity profile just follows the law of the wall for a purely plane plate with no drag reduction/increase function.

I will really appreciate if any advice could be offered.

Best regards,

Yansheng
