Hi everyone,
I'm relatively new to star-ccm+ and CFD in general so apologies if any of my issues seem trivial. As part of my final year project at uni I have to create a model on star-ccm+ to simulate the gasification process in a downdraft gasifier. I've created the model using lagrangian multiphase to model the reactions between the solid feedstock and gasification agent & volatiles.
Before using the point injector to inject the biomass, I've simulated pre-heated air flowing into the gasifier to heat up the gasifier in preparation for the gasification process. However, when I try to run it with the biomass injector activated I get the following error:
"A floating point exception has occurred: floating point exception [Invalid operation]. The specific cause cannot be identified."
Can anyone help me with this? Sorry if I am not being descriptive enough. I've used the eddy break-up combustion and mixing model, I've also defined all my reactions along with the reaction coefficients. I have 6 boundaries, 4 of which are air inlets defined as mass flow inlets, 1 of the boundaries represents the walls of the gasifier, and the last boundary represents the pressure outlet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
