Hi Dear,
Greetings!! I am trying to simulate self-propulsion test of a ship model using virtual disk in star ccm+. I have used propeller open water characteristics experimental data as input and specified the propeller rpm. I have defined wave speed using VOF. For a certain speed, total resistance has quite good agreement with experimental data but the problem is that the longitudinal thrust by virtual disk is very small and it is almost zero. It seems like the virtual disk unable to create thrust. I have followed the star ccm+ body force propeller method tutorial and I think all the inputs are correct. • What could be the possible reasons for this? Your prompt reply and help will be highly appreciated. Thank You!! |
