48 gigas for star ccm+ ????

I have a pc with 48 gigas ram and 1 processor; when I run de star ccm+ 4.04, only work with 6% of capacity; itīs ok that? another think: I have 16 nucleos; itīs possible run all this nucleos? thanks for all. when I run de sar ccm+ in paralel with 16 processors, there ir a error in mpich, I think....

Are you using Windows or linux? Star-CCM+ is 32 or 64 bits ?

I'm not fully sure what your problem is.
Does your machine have 1 cpu or 16 cores? And what does it have to do with the memory? If you have a machine with 16 cores, but the sim runs in serial, it will use only 6% of the available cpu capacity. To use more, you have to run it in parallel, but it will not work without mpich. But it is recommended to use only 15 cores, because it will start 16 processes: 15 processes for the flow solver and one controller process. |
