I have a node problem where the nodes do not appear on the list and running a job does not complete due to a node DOF error.

What does it mean when "nodes have inactive dof on which boundary conditions are specified?"

I am trying to create a moment load.

Error in job Job-1: 2 nodes have inactive dof on which boundary conditions are specified. The nodes have been identified in node set ErrNodeBCInactiveDof.

Job Job-1: Analysis Input File Processor aborted due to errors.

Error in job Job-1: Analysis Input File Processor exited with an error.

Job Job-1 aborted due to errors.

What kind of elements are you using? Probably they don't have a dof associated to dof that you maight have constrained. Share your file and I'll have a look if you want.

It looks like you're using solid elements. These normally don't have rotation dofs.. just translation... which means that you cannot apply concentrated moments on any node in your mesh. You need to create the moment load with force couples. Or you could just use 1D beam elements and it will solve all your problems.

Reminder: moments and twists are macroscopic loads, hence, by definition, you cannot have it on a point/node if your element is not macroscopic too, like beams.

Hope it helps
