I am learning the tutorial: TestCases/incomp_navierstokes/bend, there is a MARKER_SYM in the configuration file.

What's the meaning of MARKER_SYM = (SYMMETRY) or MARKER_SYM = (NONE)?

It is a symmetry plane:

If the object has such a symmetry, then it is sufficient to simulate only half of the object.
In the case of the bend, the flow in the upper half is the same as the lower half, but mirrored in the symmetry plane.
