Hi all, I'm very new in CFD and I have a needs: calculate the amount of fluid in an outlet when the fluid is extruded through a die.
The fluid is very like the plastiline.

Can I use SU2 to simulate this problem domain?

My intent is to realize an application, that permit to simulate a very specified problem domain, so I need to implement the CFD solver engine in my software, can i achieve this with SU2?

Thanks.

Hi,
The problem that you are describing requires a CFD solver for non-newtonian fluids (ketchup, gum, magma, toothpaste, etc) where the viscosity depends on the shear rate.

SU2 is mainly for newtonian fluids... But not everything is lost :-) If you have a research project, the implementation os a non-newtonian flow solver is a project by itself and SU2 is a outstanding platform to implement new Partial Differential Equations solvers.

Best,
Francisco
