Hello,

I am getting confused while solving rotating frame problems in SU2. My results are becomes too far from experimental data. For example, I get C_T = 2.07 e-2 but the experimental data is around 80 times smaller than this value. I checked the flow.dat and solutions are correct, but coefficients are wrong. Do I have mistake in defining reference area or something ? My reference area is z-projection of the blade and my reference moment length is the span of the blade.

Also i don't know that if SU2 considering solidity in the calculation of C_T and C_Q values. Do you have any ideas ?

thanks in advance,
Tansu

Thanks for your question.
The console output will include the reference area calculated if the automated area calculation is used, and you can specify this area yourself if needed. The reference areas and lengths should match whatever is used in the experimental data you are trying to match.
You should also check the MARKER_MONITORING value, it should contain all of the surfaces over which these values are calculated.

Thank you for your answer hlk.

When the reference area is calculated automatically, the console output is as follows:
"Area projection in the z-plane = 1.01", which is the true value of my blade area.

Also I did Caradonna-Tung test case, and I tried to build similar .cfg file and create similar grid like 2 blade configuration etc. My marker_monitoring values are also correct :S

I wonder if SU2 consider solidity in the calculations of coefficients? If yes, results looks normal, if no something looks wrong

Thank you,
Tansu

Hello Tsevine,

Can you please share your cfg file? I am trying to do something similar for high altitude environment but I am facing some problems so I wanna compare the cfg file.

Thank You!
