Is there a way to output the solution for a single point/cell every time step in SU2? I was previously writing the flowfield and extracting the data at the point, but this has become cumbersome.
Edit: I've looked into the code and think I can jury rig a workable solution by modifying MergeBaselineSolution (in output_structure.cpp) with a few lines to write the solution data for a single point after all the nodes have been looped over. Is MergeBaselineSolution called every time step or just the ones where a solution file is to be written? Is this even a workable solution? Last edited by HugoGrotius; May 4, 2019 at 11:59. |

Thanks for your interest in SU2 and for reaching out!
That does sound extremely cumbersome. My question would be are you just looking to see how some variables develop over time? Or do need the data that is being output for other purposes? If you only need to track the variables, similar to the residuals, the easiest solution may be to add some lines in SetConv_Body. I hope this answered your question, but please don't hesitate to ask more! |

Thanks! Yes, I just need to record a time history of the variables. I'll take a look at SetConv_Body and see what I can cook up.
