pgdelaserna is on a distinguished road
Hi all,

I am trying to perform a mesh deformation using SU2_DEF via a MoveSurface file (i.e. setting DV_KIND to SURFACE_FILE). I compute the new coordinates of the deformed blade and write them to a MoveSurface file, which includes the IDs of the points that I want to move and the new x, y and z coordinates.

However, when applying the deformation to the blade surface (DV_MARKER is set to BLADE), it is able to deform the blade surface (as it can be seen in the pictures that I attach in the link below, called surface_grid_* where the deformed grid is in red and the original one in black), but fails to transmit this motion to the rest of the volumetric grid (as it can be seen in the volumetric_grid_* pictures), as it only moves the first cell next to the surface. Does anyone understand this behaviour and why is it caused? Perhaps I am missing a option in the config file?

These are the figures that I mention: https://postimg.cc/gallery/2bbkmb4ow/

The case that I'm running is a 3D axial turbine blade, with walls on top and bottom (hub & shroud). There is no tip gap, therefore the blade sections at top and bottom are contained in the walls.

Thanks in advance!

Pablo
