Hi,

I am trying to obtain the gradients regarding the drag obj function using the "Quick Start" case. (Continuous Adj.)

However, when executing the SU2_DOT module the output is just a scalar:

DRAG gradient
-0.0180529

I was expecting the output to be a vector, representing the gradient of the surface for the NACA 0012 geometry.

Can someone explain this to me? Is there something I should change in the inv_NACA0012_basic.cfg file to get the gradient to be a vector and not a scalar?

Thanks.

That is the derivative of the design parameters defined in the config, i.e. DV_PARAM= ( 1, 0.5 )

The "raw" geometric sensitivities are in the output file (.vtk .vtu etc.) of the solver.
