Dear community,


after tedious search I surprisingly found no answer although I suspect this happens a lot: The solver SU2 v8.0.0 "Harrier" would not run but throws the following message:


Error in TokenizeString(): line in the configuration file with no "=" sign.
Look for: 5 417 69 311 0
str.length() = 14
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'int'
Aborted (core dumped)



I executed the following: SU2_CFD mesh_NACA0012_inv.su2



The grid and config files are downloaded from SU2's Tutorial page, but I have attached the .cfg-file for Your convenience.



Additionally, can anyone give me advice on what the "Look for:…" line means, how to read it, what the solver wants to tell me?

Hi Horscht,

Don't execute SU2 using the .su2 file but use the .cfg file:

SU2_CFD config.cfg

The error is just saying that it expects to read lines of the form VARIABLE = VALUE
so a simple check to see if the configuration file is valid is to check the presence of the equal sign.

I only installed SU2 ten days ago but this I already knew.
Believe it or not, I wasn't aware of choosing the wrong file.
After all, at least my post was detailed enough to expose the mistake…

I guess that's life
