Hi everyone. I have managed to simulate a porous zone in CFD to simulate a hot powder bed. I would like to set its temp to 450k and measure the cooling effect of air flowing through it. I am not sure on how to go about doing this and would like to know if it even possible. Thanks for any feedback.

Send a message via Skype™ to Muhammad Shad
can you specify the inlet temperature of Air, temperature of porous media, material of porous structure so that you question becomes clear for understanding. thank you

Thank your for the reply.
The inlet air is at standard room temp (roughly 298k). The air then travels through the pipe and reaches a porous zone. The porous medium is made up of nylon 12 (porosity 0.035) and its at an elevated temp of 450K.

Currently I am able to simulate the porous zone via fluent, by setting it as a fluid zone and ticking the porous zone sub classification. I am just finding it difficult to set the temp of the nylon bed to 450K and measure the heat transfer.

Hope this has clarified my problem. Again, any help is much appreciated
