Hi,

I am simulating various lid driven cavity flows(2D) and I would like to extract the maximum and minimum stream function & vorticity values from the results. I am using Tecplot for post processing.

Plz tell me how to plot stream function field, vorticity field and how to get the maximum and minimum values.

Thanks.

Hello Vino,

Unfortunately, Tecplot does not have an easy way to calculate the Two-Dimensional stream Function, but you can use the tools in our CFDA to calculate each of the integral pieces then use our Specify Equations tool to perform the subtraction.

As far as vorticity though, we do have a way to calculate it using the Calculate Variables tool under the CFDA.

You can then see the min/max values by looking at Data Set Info for the newly created variables.

Thanks for your reply Jermiah.!

Please let me know where can I find the CFDA tools?

Thanks

You will find them under the Analyze menu in Tecplot 360. Our manual provides details on how to use the CFD Analyzer as well as a list of all the variables that can be calculated.
