Two post-doc positions are open in the Turbo & Flow research group in 
Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU). The locations of these two roles 
will be based in either Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, or Taicang, Jiangsu Province, 
China. The Turbo & Flow research group focuses on developing advanced numerical 
methods for the aerodynamic and aeroelasticity design and analysis of 
turbomachines as well as experimental investigation of the complex aerodynamic 
and aeroelasticity problems.

Annual pre-tax salary will be in the range between 200k and 300k Chinese Yuan, 
depending on qualification and experience.

Postdoc #1
Job description:
-develop efficient and robust time domain and frequency domain nonlinear and 
linearized CFD solvers;
-develop novel methods for prediction of flutter at off-design conditions;
-perform global stability analysis for rapid stall inception prediction;
-develop adjoint solver and perform multidisciplinary optimization;
Areas of application include multistage axial and centrifugal compressor, 
turbochargers and pumps.

-Ph.D. in engineering or science;
-Strong applied maths background;
-Expert level knowledge in computational aerodynamics/aeroelasticity;
-Knowledge of numerical methods for solution of nonlinear PDEs;
-Knowledge of Fortran/C/C++ and UNIX operating system;

Postdoc #2
Job description:
-perform experimental investigations into turbo-machinery aerodynamic and 
aeroelasticity problems such as stall and flutter;
-perform experimental studies to assess results of numerical optimization of 
compressors or pumps.

-Ph.D. in engineering or science;
-Expert level knowledge in experimental structural 
-Knowledge of measurement techniques for structural dynamics or aeroelasticity;
-Knowledge of turbomachinery aero-mechanical and/or aero-thermal design.
