Posted By: Hervé MORVAN
Date:Tue, 11 May 2004, 6:16 p.m.

CFD@Nottignham will host a special evening lecture on the topic of Fire Modelling starting at 17:00 on May 13th in Rm MAPH B13 (Math and Physics Building) located on its main campus in Nottingham (see access details below).

The speaker is Dr Yehuda Sinai, Head of the HVAC, Fire and Safety Consultancy team for Ansys-CFX. The lecture should last between 1 and 1.5 hours and promises to be very interesting to a large audience.

Yehuda should help demystify the underlying science and illustrate to what effect it may be used or has already been used in the UK and beyond. His focus will be on numerical modelling as is implemented to assess risk potential, building performance and design in his CFD group in Harwell. Yehuda has a vast experience on this topic having worked for the UK civil nuclear programme for a good while before joining CFX to lead their HVAC, Fire and Safety Consultancy team.

You are therefore invited to attend this open, free event and to advertise it. The theatre can host close to 100 persons, so there should be room for those of you interested in this topic.

Access plans can be found on the link provided below (Bldg 22) and the university post code is NG7 2RD if you use www.multimap.com or similar services to find your way to us. Guest car park are also visible on the PDF map. Refreshments will be offered after lecture.
