Hello,
i'm meshing a vaned duct with icemcfd. I want to generate an unstructured mesh from an all tri surface mesh. For surface meshing i used the patch dependent and patch indipendent algorithm. Minimum quality of the surface mesh after smoothing is about 0,45. The mesh has no errors (holes etc.) Afterwards i tried to generate a tetra volume mesh with one layer of prisms which i want so split afterwards to resolve the boundary layer. For this i used the octree mesher and the delaunay triangulation. Mesh generation process runs but does not create a volume mesh. The last messages icem prints are: updating node connections trilateral round to curve Speicherschutzverletzung status 139 applicatioin is finished Error: tetra didn't create ./tetra_mesh.uns I searched for status 139 and get a clue, that this means a segmentation fault. I can assure, that i do not run out of memory. I also tried different resolutions for the surface mesh but with no success. Now i'm quite clueless what to do to get a successful generation of the volume mesh. Maybe someone can give me a hint? derkaiser |

I will add some pictures later.
Is there a problem running the octree mesher with a given surface mesh? In my understanding the surface mesh should be used as an input for the octree mesher. I tried to close the mesh and only run the octree mesher but with the same results. Does anyone know, what status 139 means? |

Seems like in my case, a surface mesh for octree is required. When i close the mesh and want to calculate the volume mesh using the octree module, i get an error message, that there's no mesh.
I guess, that there is some error with the saving of the calculated mesh. May this be the case because i'm am using an academic teaching license? |

Here are two pictures of my geometry. I use a symmetry plane to reduce the cell number.
