Dear All,
I created a tet mesh in one part of the domain and a hexa mesh in another part. Both meshes don't give any error / warning message when checking them. Now, when I merge (edit mesh -> merge nodes -> merge meshes -> merge volume meshes -> merge surface mesh parts) the two meshes at their shared surface, the merging doesn't show any warnings / errors. But the merged mesh check fails with some "Surface orientations ... occupy the same volume" warning. It looks like the tri mesh / pyramid layer has grown into the hex mesh domain. The crazy thing is: I have two of these tri mesh domains that nearly look indentical. One mesh merging works as I wrote - the other one fails. I can't see any difference but obvioulsy there is one... Does anyone have an idea what could be the reason?

Hi Far,
Alright, here we go! Right (working) side hexa: right_1.jpg Right (working) side tet: right_2.jpg Left (not working) hexa: left_1.jpg Left (not working) tet: left_2.jpg Merging surfaces output: Code:
330 shells from the variable region deleted 160 bars from the variable region deleted 2105 vertices included 720 vertices removed expecting 928 pyras, have 0 already

And here the errors after merging:
crap_1.jpg crap_2.jpg Code:
... Running diagnostics for Surface orientations in subset "all" cells near 6.464936 -3.790370 0.372608 occupy the same volume cells 2624249 and 1015208 face node numbers 1561625 1561760 1600603 opposite vertices 1567686 3474 ...
