Is mesh Element quality in Ansys Meshing (workbench) good for checking quality of the mesh? What can be the good range for this metric?

I have complete 3D hex mesh with more elements bunched towards the wall. My Orthogonal Quality and Aspect ratio are very good for the majority of the elements but in Element Quality almost 80% of the cells are falling below 50% and very near to 10%. Is this OK?

Thanks.

Element quality > 0.3 is termed as good!

you can click on the bars of bar chart to see where the element quality is not good!

Thanks! Been a long time since I posted this. I did my own experiments on how this metric works and got my mesh to above 50% quality by ensuring that the elements are as near to a cube as possible.

cool!!

you can find out places where the elements are not good and then use sizing function to make the mesh and elements at those location better!!

I've listed at this link (http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ans...h-quality.html) the quality guidelines from the ANSYS Meshing training material.
