Hello!
I´m new here and I´m working in my final project. I have looked for similar threads in the forum but I haven`t found anyone. I am studying a steam turbine rotor. I have worked testing just simple cylinders to validate my manual calculations with Ansys results. And now I´m working in the real rotor. I need an hexa mesh, and apply some inflation layers in the surface to provide a better calculation of the thermal layer. But I find problems like these ones: It´s a big problem for such a simple geometry, so I think I have failed in some important thing. Could you help me? |

Is this a mechanical problem or fluids related?

I think you're following a strange method!!
In CFD Problem we have to set some inflation near the wall for decreasing numerical diffusion near walls due to boundary layer effects! Now, Do you want set inflation in a structure problem!? I think the inflation has been suppressed by ANSYS logically. |

I can make a Tri mesh with inflation with any problem in both structural or thermal Thank you! I will keep investigating. |
