Hi,

I want to link the faces periodically. I do this work as follow, please see the following video file:

http://www.4shared.com/rar/faKnnGGSba/Untitled_38.html

In fact, I select both of reverse orientation and periodic option because the mesh is same and equal in these two faces with this way. Is this work correct?

I am grateful that guide me.

Thanks,

Best,

Aja

zip your file instead of rar
and display some result in fluent for checking if your periodicity work

Thanks your answer,

Zip file:

http://www.4shared.com/zip/rC3axdnFce/Untitled_38.html

This video is just a example of my way(method of creating periodic boundary condition) in simulation of turbine.

In other words, I do this way for creating periodic faces in turbine.

In fact, i want to know that this way is correct or not and the notes are appeared in fluent is related to this way or not. please see the following thread:

http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/flu...tml#post562056

I think that periodic condition work, Please see the following figures:

one blade:

eight blade:

But what is reason of appearing these notes?

I am really grateful that guide me about this cases.

Thanks max,

Best,

Aja

what kind of bc did you create?
the link option is just a way to copy and paste exactly the same mesh on another surface.
Doing that, it will not generate a periodic BC.
But when I see your last picture I assume you created the priodic BC and it work (Now just be sure the the flowfield is also comuted with periodicity)
The othe warning message is about interfaces. You probably created interfaces in Gambit, but you need to define them in Fluent (Define/grid interfaces)

Yes, You are right.

The periodic BC need to create exactly the same mesh on another surface. For this reason, I used link option. Therefore, Is this work correct?

I doubt about reverse orientation option. I also selected this option. Is it correct?

First, I should do above work , then I define in grid interface. But these notes are appeared for displaying mesh. why?

thanks

can you elaborate how did you create your interfaces?

Thanks your answer,

Two kind of interfaces are created in this work.

1. interfaces .

2. interfaces for periodic BC.

Please see the following video files, you will understand.

gambit:

http://www.4shared.com/zip/W-LQKPwcce/Untitled_39.html

fluent:

http://www.4shared.com/zip/fSi2mFzCba/Untitled_40.html

I am grateful that guide me about this problem.

Thanks,

Best,

Aja

on your video you set the type of boundary for "periodic" and "interface" as wall.
set "periodic" as periodic (Type) and "interface" as interface (Type)

I changed in fluent.

another suggestion?

Is set up of fluent correct about "interface"?

Thanks,

What is your exact meaning of "compute"?

Thanks,
