Hi,

I want to unite the numbers of volumes in the following attached model(Gambit file), but edges 152 and 837 have created after uniting. why?

These edges create problem for me in designing!

I am grateful that guide me.

Thanks

don't know why.
but if you don't want to work with this issue, you may delete your volume (lower geometry disabled). Then delete both surfaces which us the edges.
Then create new edge, new surfaces, and finally new volume
in your case:
delete volume.14
delete surfaces 29 & 358
delete edges 152 & 837
create new edge from vertex 237 & 332
create surface from edge 303 / 813 / 55 / new edge created
create surface from edge 163 / 769 / 80 / new edge created
create new volume

Thanks.

According the your guidance, It is fixed.

But Now I want to split Volume 98 with face 419 or 418. But it doesn't apply correctly!! Why??

because your face 418 lies "exactly" on your volume.
If you want to split a real volume with a surface, the dimensions of your surface have to be much greater than your volume.
In your case you need to extend surface 418 in z direction.
*sweep edge 951 with edge 953 (in z-negative direction)
*unite the created surface with face 418
*retry to split your volume with this new surface.
It will work

maybe gambit gave you another name for surfae.
just sweep your surface in order to catch all your volume.
unite both surfaces et re-split

you need also to extende your surface in y direction.
Delete you blue surface
create a plane 2x2 centered-yz
it will do the job

Max, the volume is not split correctly. your work is also incorrect. There is bent surface in the volume.

See post 13.

alright I didn't watch out
from post 2, you need to increase the accuracy while creating the surface
(create surface from edge 303 / 813 / 55 / new edge created)
disable automatic tolerance, and give manual tolerance 1e-6
