Greetings,

I need to mesh a small annular gap between cylinders (Figure-domain), and I'm trying to get only Quads in the front and bottom surfaces, as you can see in Figure-Quads. However, as you can see in Figure-Skewness, as we follow the circumference, the skewness gradually increases until the quad breaks into a triangle. I would like to keep all elements in this suface as quads, with their edge gradually changing according to the position in the circumference. It doesn't seem like a difficult task to perform, however I've already tried a lot of different methods in ANSYS Meshing, such as Sweep (with only Quads), changing curvature angle etc. All to no avail. Does anybody know a way to achieve only quads in this surface using either Meshing or ICEM?

In short, I want a mesh with elements like presented in Figure-Quads, instead of what I'm getting in Figure-Skewness. Help please! xD

Thank you for any advices!

PS.: sorry if I'm repeating a question already answered in other threads, but I didn't find anything on the subject.

have u tried using "sizing" function with "hard" behavior?
increase and decrease the size depending on your geometry size

Thank you for you reply, Kapi. I`ve tried what you suggested but didn`t work. However, I managed to solve my problem switching both Transition and Smoothing to Fast and High, respectively, as I read in the User Guide.
Cheers.
