So I'm undertaking a project looking at spin effects on a rugby balls.

Currently I've draw the ball in Solidworks, imported to DM, created enclosure to simulate a wind tunnel, subtracted the ball from the enclosure. If I import into AM and set size func to Proximity and curvature I get skewness under 0.8. Only 380k cells.

I want to increase cell count, reduce element size near ball etc. But if I put in ANY sizing or refinement the max scewness goes too high.

Checking where scewness >0.8 shows the elements are usually in the seams of the ball. (see pic)

How can I mesh the seams? Any tips on getting a good mesh in general? I'm quite stuck.

Cheers

Fixed it - I needed to split the fluid domain up into smaller sections and mesh them individually.
