Hi everyone, I am new around here and I am trying to find some help. Maybe this question is solved in other post so, if anyone knows where to look just tell me.
My problem is that I have to make an aerodynamic study of a car with Ansys Fluent and I am currently trying to make the best meshing as possible but i dont know how to improve it, I mean, I created the study and all that stuff but dont know how and what to check to improve and get a more accurate one. If anyone is a little bored and wanna help me, please let me know, i would be very happy Thxs in advance! |

Hello, is it a 2D or 3D investigation?
Thanks |

Is a 3D investigation, I imported the stp file (CATIA) to Ansys and then create the mesh on it. The problem is that when i try to read the user guide its not so clear about what to use and I didnt find any "Ansys fluent for dummies" or any meshing tutorial that could be useful to me.
In case someone needs more information to help me just ask and i will tell all i can say, or maybe send you any file somehow. |

Have you tried using icem for meshing? There is a good tutorial for airfoil block meshing. That would come in handy for the Ahmed body study

Which method you will follow? If you are a beginner and do not have time, avoid using ICEM and follow the videos like what I sent but you have to be sure of the mesh max skewness is lower than 0.98 for convergence and carry out the refinement at the critical surfaces and calculate the 1st layer thickness according to the y+

You now in the meshing or the solver step? You can follow the tutorial I sent and try to make the mesh and use fluent then tell me
Thanks |

As a first step I would recommend defining the geometry very clearly. I understand it is three-dimensional but without knowing what the geometry is it is perhaps not possible to suggest what mesh strategies to use or recommend.
