Hello All,
I'm new to CFD and have been assigned a thesis project at university to model a turbulent steady flow (Re = 65,000) around a 3D cylinder at 22 different aspect ratios. Starting with aspect ration (AR=0.5 to 11) in increments of 0.5. I have a few questions in terms of the project. Geometry: I drew a circle (D=1m) in the XY Plane in DesignModeler then extruded it to a height of 1m (Add as frozen). I then constructed the domain, extruded it (Add as frozen) to a height of 10D. The inlet is at a distance of 10D from the cylinder. The outlet is at 20D, and the side walls are 10D. I then created a Boolean and subtracted the cylinder from the domain and set the option "Preserve Tool Bodies to no". I have attached my a picture of my setup. Mesh: when it comes to the meshing part, I'm very lost and not sure where to start. I have done many online tutorials and watched many videos, but every case is different. Any help is extremely appreciated and I'm very lost. Kind regards, Ziad Salloomi |
