I'm using ANSYS Structural R17.2 and I noticed that the ANSYS Workbench Mesh Status dialog box does not have the 'Stop' button to kill the meshing process. The 'Stop' button is present on my friend's PC and there's a bigger dialog box too.

It doesn't matter much when there's only 1 part being meshed, I can kill the mesher using Task Manager. But when I'm meshing several parts, killing the AnsMeshingServer.exe processes becomes tedious.

Anyone knows if there's a setting to enable the 'Stop' button or to make the dialog box bigger? I can't drag it at the edges like other Windows dialog boxes.

Hello,
I had the same problem, and just like you I find it very annoying.
I read that someone solved it by editing an XML file in some ANSYS subfolder, but I solved it with a simple tool in a very easy way .
The tool is called 'ResizableEnable'. It is a lightweigth program (only few KBs), you don't have to install it, you just have to start the EXE, it does not require administrative privileges.

This is the link to the program page:
http://www.digitallis.co.uk/pc/downloads.html

Direct link to download: http://www.digitallis.co.uk/pc/downl...sizeEnable.zip

This tool allows you to resize any window, even the ones that does not allow resizing (like Mesh Status window in ANSYS).

Once you have started the tool, try to build a mesh (in order to show the Mesh Status window). Then simply put the mouse pointer in the lower-right corner of the window, and then resize it.

The stop button will magically appear!

Have a nice day!
Michele
