Hello everyone,

I have noticed there are a variety of meshes available to use. For example, tetrahedral, hexahedron, wedge, pyramid, and polyhedron meshes.

Is your choice of mesh mainly based on the computational time? What other factors affect your mesh choices?

Thank you.

I do alot of free-surface water simulation for customers. Two main aspects are computation time and high quality post processing.

Both is good with hexa meshes. They take quite a lot less mesh cells to fill a given volume and give very smooth visual of the water surface when using a proper refinement in this region.
