Dear All,
I used to use ICEM CFD to work on the geometry and create the mesh for CFX simulations. Recently, I have started doing everything using the tools available within Workbench, namely DesignModeler and Meshing. Unfortunately, I cannot find the way to mesh internal surfaces within a 3D domain (for instance, these could be plates within a 3D domain...see image attached as a very simple example to better explain the problem). In ICEM, I used to use the option "Internal wall" (https://bit.ly/2M5gmY0) to do so, but I cannot find an equivalent option using DesignModeler and Meshing. Thank you. Francesco |

Hi Francesco,
In design modeller how did you define the internal surfaces ? You have several options, I would start by using a boolean operator defining a given thickness for your surfaces and then cut your fluid enclosure. It it's infinity thin you can also simply define a named selection in Ansys meshing and change the properties inside Fluent. Have fun |
