Hello,
I am trying to study the lift characteristics of a modified airfoil using face meshing. I have divided the fluid domain into 6 using face split, but one of the split faces doesn't mesh properly when face meshing is used. What might be the reason? |

Hi,
I advice you to use ICEM CFD to have better control in Meshing. This kind of problem can be easily solved in ICEM CFD. If you have any queries contact me through silambarasan7@gmail.com Regards, Silambarasan P |

Hello,
Have you done any vertex associations for this? If so, make sure they are associated to the correct entity. |

Hi Kira,
Treat me as a novice in Ansys. Could you please elaborate vertex associations? I am using ANSYS Meshing (not ICEM) for my model. |

Hello Anupam,
I now see the [ANSYS Meshing] in the title, sorry about that, I was talking about ICEM. I also realize that the association I was talking about is for unstructured mesh as well, I do not think it is used with structured meshing. It is similar in ANSYS Meshing as in ICEM; within the association menu there is an option to associate entities (its a yellow hand/finger). There you can choose the vertex/edge/face(s) to associate. But again, this would be for unstructured, so unless you wanted to convert it to unstructured, it would not apply. So my suggestion would be to double check that all of your surfaces are present, I believe issues such as this are often caused by missing surfaces. |

I dont know why but the mesh is warping at the end . I have tried sizing and biases of different sizes , nothing seems to be working

I suggest you visit https://aeroptimal.com/mesh (you must create an account to use this module), where you can create a full structured airfoil mesh - https://youtu.be/4Opu0zk7gFk . You can export .su2 .msh .foam .vtk
