Dear Folks,

Need your advice where I can find information on zone meshing?
I am trying to mesh two different fluid zones together. Can anyone who knows about this roughly share with me how that is done in Gambit and Fluent settings? Appreciate if one can possibly share some tutorials on this. Many thanks in advance.

split your domain into your differents volumes, and set each volume with your specific condition in the "Specify Continuum Types" panel.
Then in fluent, will be able to set each domain separately

Thanks very much for your help. I have tried that before. this is what I have done.

1. mesh two of the blocks separately. I have tried both similar and different mesh sizes at the interfacing surface.

2. when I run the simulation, it seems like the flow information was not passed through the interface (meaning the mesh is not interconnected).
I have even tried to join the mesh using the "join mesh" option in gambit but it didn't help too.

Can you please assist me in greater detail the steps of doing this correctly? What are the specific settings that I need to perform both in Gambit and Fluent? I would really appreciate your help. Millions of thanks in advance.

ah, ok I didn't understand what you meant with zones.
In your case you need to define the interfaces as INTERFACE in the BC panel (gambit)
Then in fluent, set the interfaces (define/interfaces...)
that's it

Now I roughly understand how it works. Sorry that my question wasn't clear but I think you managed to capture what I wanted to say. i will try that out and hopefully it works now. Many thanks again mAx.
