Hello,

I am having a problem in making porous-jump boundary condition. I need to use porous-jump for my 3D HVAC analysis.

How do i model my geometry?

Do i need 2 part body? or do i need surface body?

Can you please help me?

Thank You

Hi,

You do not need 2 parts. Make one part and change the corresponding geometry (wall or interface) to the porous jump BC.

But i cannot choose the surface for porous jump in one part. I attached a very simple geometry for same case. I guess porous jump would be surface?

Can you share a simple geometry with porous-jump boundary condition?

Dear Sherlock,

For example, in the last image you attached, it seems that you have 2 parts. you need to select these two parts from "the tree outline/parts" in the design modeler (from workbench). Now click right and form a new part. Then you would have two bodies but one part. Now you have just one interface between these two bodies and also your mesh would be conformal. this interface would be the porous-jump boundary (you have to change it in the Fluent/boundary conditions from interior to he porous-jum BC).

Dear Ehsan,

It works. I always tried to use Boolean Operations to make one part. But it deletes the interface.

Thank you very much.
