hi dears
I made a moving mesh from 0 deg to 180 deg in FAME ENGINE, but the mesh in 180 degree has the same number of mesh in 0 degree & the number of mesh didn't change during moving.. how can i solve this problem & have a different number of mesh during arbitury time steps??? tnx.... |

Hi
Dear Ali Yousefzadeh I think you have to make sure that all of the crank angles are meshed. Did you check stages of moving mesh? I mean if there is a mesh after you loaded a stage, it means that you made it... |

Dear shahrbano
i have a moving mesh that it has the same number of cells in every time step & i can't solve it!when it moves then i have a mesh in every timestep |

Hi dears
I made a moving mesh in fame engine. It starts from TDC wich is 0 deg. I has 5 rows at TDC. and it sweeps 90 deg with the rows being streched. and then when it reaches 90 deg the rows become 10. I want to know that is it a good mesh for running a case on it? I made my moving meshes with fame engine plus, and there, in every step one row appended to the other rows. for this reason I can't accept that stretching a mesh will give a good result! |

Hi shahrbanoo,
You should define a maximum cell size (e.g. 1mm) and then the meshing algorithm will stretch the grid up to this limit. Every time this value is reached, a new layer is added. For a good CFD study you should carry out a mesh independence study, which will show the best compromise between computational effort and accuracy. As a rule of thumb for ICE you can start with a maximum cell size of 1.5 and see the results. Furthermore, take care with the meshing interval in the FEP panel. 10CAD for both create/move time-step is a good starting point, otherwise your mesh will become huge and/or show many negative volumes due to excessive stretching. Regards, Mack |
